You know when Troy said in the earlier entry that he considers” White Crane to be very freeing and both the energy transmission and improvisational movement reminds him of what he enjoyed most about western boxing.” …..some of you must be wondering what that meant.

White Crane, like most other CKF, starts off in a much formalized structured manner to build strong basics.

At a certain point, you go above the “shape” and its all intent or essence.

But you need the forms to get there and you train your forms mindful of the intended end.

So when we say in Fuzhou Crane “Body like willow, hands like bullets” – this is the state that you have to achieve.
