More CKF books etc…

January 31, 2008

Managed to scan in a few more book – some sample pages for your view…

As you can see, not all my books are commercial publications; some are in-house manuals – kinda like “workbooks” if you like.

These are the ones that are really cherished by me, usually no hold-barred full details explanation and well illustrated.

You know, I’ve been visiting some of the schools to talk to them about turning some of their manuals into commercial publications; no easy task as these manuals are old and most of the masters who issued them, sadly, have passed….

In many cases, I am trying to pinpoint the current person-in-charge to obtain the rights to re-publish them for distributions.

Like I said, I got heaps of old books/manuals like these and it’s going to take a while …..every journey begins somewhere….right ?

And the beautiful beautiful music you hear is from “12 Girls Band”.

Someone posted a video clip of the band performing this on youtube and a reader commented :-

“one of the most beautiful and brings tears to my eyes hearing this”….. – something like that….

Can’t say I disagree with those sentiments – something like that….

Back to my favorite topic; how peeved I get when I read how some folks like to make sweeping statements regarding CKF.

Like – there is no “ground fighting” in CKF.

Well my friends, how high is the sky and how thick is the earth?

Do you know or think you know?

Kung Fu DVDs.

January 31, 2008

You know, each time I visit Singapore; it’s without fail that I would visit my family …. both blood and Kung Fu, friends and a few shops that have, for the last ten over years, become my supply for MA books and DVDs.

I am now at the point that I could pick up the phone, call them and find out what’s available and “layaway” those titles that I want until I visit and this could be months of waiting for them sometimes.

Well, you could say we have become friends after all these years and they know I will show up to claim the reserved titles.

One of them, also a CKF teacher, would occasionally put aside titles that I am unaware of; hahahaha,  he knows my “taste” in CKF…..

Like this clip, from a Hong Kong show …… a lot of internal styles featured and this one – Tibetan White Crane….
